How do I Join?

Joining is Easy! If you are over 16 years of age and within the common bond, just apply for membership at our office.

To be eligible for membership of Howth Sutton Credit Union Ltd you must be living or working within our Common Bond area. You need to present 2 forms of identification to join and a minimum of €10 is needed to open an account and keep it activated.

To become a member you will need to fill in Membership Application Form, which you can download by clicking on the link below, and bring it with you to credit union office. You will also need two forms of identification in order to comply with the Money Laundering Act 1994 relating to all financial institutions. One form of ID from each of the sections below is required:

  1. Evidence of Identification (must show proof of date of birth & recent photo), i.e. Current Valid Passport, Current Valid Driving Licence, Current Valid I. D. Card

  2. Evidence of Address (must show address where you currently live), i.e. Original of Recent Household Bill (e.g. ESB, Phone), Electoral Register, Telephone/Street Directory, Bank or Building Society Statement

  3. Evidence of PPS No.i.e. wage slip, drugs payment scheme card, tax certificate, social welfare card.

Our Credit Union lets people in the community come together to save and borrow money at low rates, and is operated on a not-for-profit basis, with surpluses being returned to members.

Requirements for child membership

  1. Evidence of Identification ( original birth certificate)
  2. Evidence of Address ( Parent/Guardian's household bill where child is residing)
  3. Evidence of Child's PPS No (this can be obtained from Social Welfare)

Parents/Guardians please note that you can only have access to a child's account until a child reaches 7 years of age, after that the account is solely the property of the child and Parents/Guardians no longer have access to the account other than making lodgements, this is in keeping within the guidelines of the Data Protection Act.
